The John Wesley Museum
Following a successful tendering process, Cod Steaks was awarded the interpretive design, construction & installation of the New Room Museum in Bristol. The brand new museum focuses on the works and principles of the founders of the Methodist movement, John and Charles Wesley, whilst reinvigorating the oldest Methodist chapel in the world.
Working closely with the client, Cod Steaks was able to reflect the incredible Wesley story through a range of themed, graphic and audio visual content within the stringent confines of a Grade II listed building. The stunning exhibits fill the rooms from floor to ceiling, using textured set works and sympathetic lighting to engage visitors with life in 18th Century Britain. The stimulus to explore is extended throughout the permanent exhibition with a variety of manual interactives, as well as interpretive content and replicas hidden in drawers, books and cabinets.
