Clifton Suspension Bridge Visitor Centre

Cod Steaks won the opportunity to design and fit-out the new Clifton Suspension Bridge Visitor Centre through an international tendering process.

The exhibition is a tribute to two icons of Bristol - Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the suspension bridge he built. Working closely with the client, we integrated content supplied by the local community, to enable an inclusive story to be told.

Our idea for the permanent exhibition space is one with a contemporary light and airy feel, with an informal family friendly tone. The flexible layout arranged over two floors, is designed to accommodate; passing visitors, organised tours, family and educational events. The displays are easy to update and suitable for all ages and abilities.

A vast feature wall and countless interactive and multisensory displays bring to life the history and significance of the bridge, Bristol's engineering past and social history.

"We chose Cod Steaks to develop our exhibition because we enjoyed their creative approach to the topics we had chosen and the way they sought to reflect the suspension bridge throughout the display."
